Catalog of models (compiled by Josh G.)
Galaxy 3140: 4", 2-speed personal fan.
Galaxy 3146: 6", 2-speed personal fan. This came in several different
versions. Blade ends can be either pointed or rounded, and the badge in the
center of the front grille can either be blank, have the classic "Galaxy"
logo, or have the newer "Galaxy By Lasko" logo.
Galaxy 3145: 6", 2-speed clip-on fan. White. The front grille's
center badge has the "Galaxy By Lasko" logo.
Galaxy 2156: 9", 1-speed personal fan. Depending on age, the blade is
either blue or almond, and is the same as the blade used on the 9"
oscillating fan. The short desk stand is either plastic or metal.
Galaxy 2154: 9", 2-speed oscillating desk fan. Also sold as the Lasko
3154.
Galaxy 2150: 12", 3-speed oscillating desk fan. Depending on age, the
blade can be either blue or almond, and in either case the blade ends may be
either rounded or pointed. Also sold as the Lasko 3150.
Galaxy 2151: 16", 3-speed oscillating desk fan. Depending on age, the
blade can be either blue or almond. This model was also sold as the Lasko
3151.
Galaxy 2157: 16", 3-speed oscillating pedestal fan. Brown blade.
Labeled "Galaxy by Lasko" on the badge. Pushbutton speed control.
Galaxy 3712: 12", 2-speed box fan. Has a 7-wing white plastic blade,
and a rectangular center badge with the classic "Galaxy" logo.
Galaxy 2153: 12", 3-speed box fan with a pivot stand. 3-wing brown
plastic blade (perhaps blue on some really old versions), with a square
"Galaxy" badge in the center. Pushbutton controls. The blade is similar to
that used on the 2150 oscillating fan.
Galaxy 3714: 20", 2-speed box fan. Has a 5-wing white plastic blade,
and a rectangular center badge. There are several variants: older versions
have a perforated blade hub with a bunch of small holes in it, while later
versions do not. Most versions have the classic "Galaxy" logo (with the
letters broken up into a bunch of segments) but some have the newer,
streamlined logo. A few of the last releases have no center badge at all.
Also released in all versions as the Lasko 4714.
Galaxy 3713: 20", 3-speed box fan. Identical to the 3714 except for
the number of speeds. The variants are the same, as well. Also released in
all versions as the Lasko 4713.
Galaxy 3746: 20", 3-speed box fan with thermostat. This one has the
same 5-wing plastic blade and center badge, but the controls are up on a
raised console. May have the blade hub perforated or not, and may have
either logo style on the center badge.
Galaxy 3520: 20", 3-speed floor fan ("The Wind Machine"). 5-wing
plastic blade, the same as on the box fans.
Galaxy 3521: 20", 3-speed floor fan ("The Wind Machine II"). 7-wing
plastic blade. Unlike the original "Wind Machine," this one has a pivot
stand that allows the airflow to be directed at an angle. All versions
produced until the early 1990s are light beige.
Galaxy 2122: 9", 2-speed window fan. Manually reversible (the head
swivels around). Plastic body and blade.
Galaxy 2155: 16", 3-speed window fan. Plastic body and blade.
Electrically reversible. This had a very long run, and its successor, the
Lasko 2155, is still produced today, though the blade style is different
now.
Galaxy 2121: 20", 3-speed window fan with thermostat. 4-wing plastic
blade. Produced until around 1992.
Galaxy 2166: 20", 3-speed window fan with thermostat. This one has a
metal, 3-wing blade and presumably higher airflow than the 2121. There was a
special version made for Sears that had a *remote* thermostat control.
Galaxy 2152: 12", 3-speed hassock fan. Early models have the control
knob on the top; later versions have it on the side. These later versions
are labeled "Galaxy By Lasko."
Galaxy 2214: 14", 3-speed high-velocity fan. 3-wing metal blade. Has
a thermostat control and a stand that is designed to fold so that the fan
can be wedged in a window.
Sears sold an 18" version of this same fan (along with the 14" version).
Wall Fans: Galaxy produced 12" and 16" 3-speed wall fans. Models from
the early 1980s had brown blades; later models had grey blades. The model
numbers were 3162 and 3163.
