I want one identical to it but in the baby clue color as well, my grandma had one when I was a very little kid, this is the fan that started it all for me when I was 3 lol
I remember I knew a guy whose sister had one of those in her bedroom. It rattled on high but was quiet on low.

Keith, is that a full-on variable speed control on that fan with electric reverse and thermostat? I think that's the only GE I've seen with those features.

Glad to hear you got the motor fixed. Is that the GE "half motor"?

Yep-that's an "infinite" speed control. (Low is preset so as not to stall the fan, but it's quite a bit slower than one of the 3 speed boxers) I'm told it's one of 4 that are known. It also has a timer - that's the top dial on the panel. Sadly, it doesn't work. But I'm just glad that it's now a "usable" fan-whereas it wasn't when I first received it. (It's stirring up a breeze right now.) It is indeed one of those "half motors" and after seeing the insides, it amazed me that it's just a "c-clip" that holds the rotor/shaft/blades in the fan. That's why these motors have a tendency to get all messed up if these fans fall on their face! I have a brochure around here somewhere that shows that fan from the early 60's and it supposedly had a filter on the back. Thanks for asking!
